Description
Delightful vegan pastries featuring sweet apples and rich caramel in a flaky pastry, perfect for dessert or a snack.
Ingredients
- 2 sheets of puff pastry
- 30g of caster/granulated sugar
- 2 heaped teaspoons of ground cinnamon
- 4 large apples
- Dairy-free milk
- Vegan caramel sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into squares or rectangles.
- Peel and core the apples, then cut them into small pieces.
- In a bowl, mix the chopped apples with sugar and cinnamon.
- Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- If you like, drizzle some vegan caramel sauce over the apples.
- Fold the pastry over the filling to make a pocket or triangle and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
- Brush the top of each pastry with dairy-free milk.
- Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
These pastries can be served warm with extra vegan caramel sauce or powdered sugar, and pair well with dairy-free ice cream.
