Description

Delightful vegan pastries featuring sweet apples and rich caramel in a flaky pastry, perfect for dessert or a snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • 30g of caster/granulated sugar
  • 2 heaped teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • 4 large apples
  • Dairy-free milk
  • Vegan caramel sauce (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into squares or rectangles.
  3. Peel and core the apples, then cut them into small pieces.
  4. In a bowl, mix the chopped apples with sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  6. If you like, drizzle some vegan caramel sauce over the apples.
  7. Fold the pastry over the filling to make a pocket or triangle and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  8. Brush the top of each pastry with dairy-free milk.
  9. Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

These pastries can be served warm with extra vegan caramel sauce or powdered sugar, and pair well with dairy-free ice cream.
