Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, egg, salt, pepper, allspice, and nutmeg until fully combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a large skillet, heat butter over medium heat and cook the meatballs until browned on all sides, about 10-12 minutes. Remove the meatballs and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add flour and stir for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the beef broth and bring it to a simmer.
- Add heavy cream and return the meatballs to the skillet.
- Simmer for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, let the meat mixture sit for 10-15 minutes after mixing. Make sure to brown the meatballs well for added depth of flavor.
