Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 4 slices bacon
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- 1/2 onion, chopped (optional)
- 1 tbsp butter (optional)
Instructions
- Trim the ends of the fresh green beans.
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the grease in the skillet.
- If desired, add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the green beans to the skillet, stirring to coat in the bacon grease.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are tender.
- Crumble the cooked bacon over the green beans and toss to combine.
- Serve warm as a delightful side dish.
