Description

Delightful cookies with a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors, featuring gooey caramel and chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel chips
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • ½ tsp flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the caramel chips and optional chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving 2 inches of space between each scoop.
  8. Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie before baking.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
