Description
A fun twist on traditional French toast, featuring rolled bread that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Ingredients
- 8 slices of crustless bread
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons of milk
- 1 tablespoon of liquid cream
- 1 knob of butter
- 1 teaspoon of liquid vanilla
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 100 grams of sugar
Instructions
- Use a rolling pin to flatten the slices of bread.
- Roll each flattened slice of bread tightly.
- In a bowl, beat the egg with the milk, cream, and vanilla.
- Dip the rolled bread in the egg mixture.
- In a hot skillet, add the knob of butter and cook the rolls on each side until they are lightly golden.
- For the glaze, mix the sugar and cinnamon together.
- Dip the cooked rolls in the sugar and cinnamon mix. Serve them warm with coffee.
Notes
Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of maple syrup. Use day-old bread for better results and feel free to add fresh fruit inside the roll.
