A delightful treat combining ripe bananas and rich chocolate, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter.
- Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then stir to combine.
- Add the flour and cocoa powder, mixing gently until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.
- If you like, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Best enjoyed warm with butter or cream cheese. Pairs well with vanilla ice cream.
