Creamy and cheesy Parmesan scalloped potatoes are the perfect comfort food for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 4 to 6 medium potatoes, sliced thin
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh herbs (such as thyme or rosemary)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for greasing the dish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- In a saucepan, heat the cream with minced garlic and fresh herbs until warm. Season with salt and pepper.
- Layer the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish, sprinkling Parmesan cheese between layers.
- Pour the infused cream mixture over the potatoes and top with additional Parmesan.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Use a mandoline slicer for even potato slices. Mix different cheeses for extra flavor. For added heat, add red pepper flakes to the cream. Let the dish rest for best results.
