A delightful twist on traditional French toast, filled with creamy Nutella and topped with powdered sugar and fresh berries.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of bread (your choice, like brioche or whole wheat)
- 1/2 cup of Nutella
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
- Butter for frying
- Powdered sugar for serving (optional)
- Fresh berries for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Spread a generous amount of Nutella on two slices of bread. Top with the other two slices to make sandwiches.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat and add a small amount of butter.
- Dip each sandwich carefully into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
- Place the coated sandwiches in the hot skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Once cooked, remove the French toast from the pan and let it cool slightly.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve with fresh berries if desired.
Notes
For a healthier option, use whole-grain bread and add sliced strawberries or bananas inside the sandwich with Nutella. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
