Description

A classic treat that’s perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert, using ripe bananas for a moist and sweet bread.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas (with brown spots for extra sweetness)
  • 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  3. Mash bananas in a large bowl.
  4. Stir in melted butter.
  5. Mix in sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  6. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt together.
  7. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  8. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  10. Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan before slicing and serving.
