Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas (with brown spots for extra sweetness)
- 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash bananas in a large bowl.
- Stir in melted butter.
- Mix in sugar, egg, and vanilla.
- Sift flour, baking soda, and salt together.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes in the pan before slicing and serving.
Notes
Serve with butter or cream cheese, and enjoy with coffee or tea. Store in an airtight container for 2-3 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
