A moist and fluffy banana bread with the rich flavor of buttermilk, perfect for any time of the day.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and buttermilk.
- Stir in the melted butter, sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well mixed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Use overripe bananas for the best flavor. Don’t overmix the batter for a fluffier texture. You can add nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
