A simple yet delicious one-pot meal combining tender chicken, marinara sauce, and cheesy goodness, perfect for busy families.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked pasta for serving
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
- Pour marinara sauce over the chicken, and sprinkle with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 360 minutes or on high for 240 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
- About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the chicken.
- Cover again and let the cheese melt.
- Serve hot over cooked pasta and garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
To store leftovers, cool completely and keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for 2-3 months. For a lighter version, use grilled chicken and zucchini noodles.
