Description

A delightful treat combining sweet ripe bananas with rich chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 4 overripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×5 metal loaf pan and set it aside.
  2. In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using a hand mixer until it’s fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir well to combine.
  5. Sift in the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips, saving some to sprinkle on top for decoration.
  7. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Notes

Ensure bananas are very ripe for optimal sweetness. Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread tender.
