Description
A delightful treat combining sweet ripe bananas with rich chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.
Ingredients
- 4 overripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×5 metal loaf pan and set it aside.
- In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using a hand mixer until it’s fluffy.
- Add the eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir well to combine.
- Sift in the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, saving some to sprinkle on top for decoration.
- Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Notes
Ensure bananas are very ripe for optimal sweetness. Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread tender.
