A delicious and comforting treat combining ripe bananas and rich chocolate flavor, perfect for using overripe bananas.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix well.
- Add the flour and cocoa powder and stir until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if you’re using them.
- Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, spread butter on the bread or serve with ice cream or whipped cream. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
