Description

A warm, comforting dish that combines sweet apples and earthy butternut squash, perfect for Thanksgiving celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups butternut squash, peeled and diced
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the butternut squash and apples.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup, and melted butter.
  4. Pour the mixture over the squash and apples, and stir until fully coated.
  5. Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle with walnuts and raisins if using.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the squash is tender.
