Description
A classic banana bread recipe that’s easy to make and perfect for using up overripe bananas.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter.
- Mix in the baking soda and salt.
- Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and mix well.
- Finally, mix in the flour until just incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature with butter, cream cheese, or nut butter. Store at room temperature for 2-3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
