A comforting classic dessert featuring tender apples and a crunchy topping, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 5 cups of apples (peeled and sliced)
- 1/2 cup of light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 1/2 cup of old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place the sliced apples into a 9×9 baking dish, spreading them evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of light brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, and 2 tablespoons of water until smooth, then pour over the apples.
- In another bowl, combine 1/2 cup of old-fashioned oats, 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. Mix in the melted unsalted butter until crumbly.
- Spread the crumb topping over the apple mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.

For the best results, use a mix of different apple varieties and don’t skimp on the crumb topping.
